This month’s topic: Leading (Servant Leadership) Teams

Who’s on your team? Your mind might go right to the workplace. Often in today’s organizations we talk about team-building, team development, and teamwork. If we stop and consider what teams we are on, we have many in addition to those in the workplace…family, friends, social, and community. 

Your role as a member of a team, whether that be as a positional leader or member, is essential to elevating that team to be a ‘servant leadership team.’ In this session we will look at the topic of leading (servant leadership) teams by:

• Seeing ourselves as the leader (the servant-leader) on many teams, not just in the workplace;
• Discussing the essential practices of workplace teams and your role as leader and follower;
• Organizational flaws when creating workplace teams from the lens of Robert Greenleaf;
• Opportunities to strengthen teams by creating the conditions for friendship in the workplace.  

This session will be facilitated by Christa Williams, Sophia Partners Executive Director and Learning Facilitator, using small and large group discussion of the topic.

About this Conversation

Servant Leadership Community of Practice is a fully virtual offering for learning about your individual servant leadership strengths and learning new practices through small group discussion, facilitated conversations, and personal reflection. This event occurs on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. CST via Zoom.
