Rotary groups celebrated with Caring Community Award
Sophia is honored to recognize Fond du Lac Noon Rotary and Rotary of Fond du Lac Morning with the 2018 Caring Community Award.
With a local membership of more than 240 Rotarians between the two clubs, its members are part of an international commitment to live and lead by the motto of:
“Service before Self”
Robert Greenleaf wrote that “servant leadership starts with a desire to serve.”
It is the same for Rotary members who share in the responsibility to serving local needs, furthering peace, fighting disease and providing clean drinking water, sanitation and hygiene internationally.
History:
- The Fond du Lac Noon Club was founded in 1919 – celebrating 100 years of service and charitable giving in 2018.
- The Rotary of Fond du Lac Morning Club was founded in 1990.
Together, the members of both Rotary Clubs in Fond du Lac create more caring communities in the Greater Fond du Lac area and across the world!
In 2012, the Sophia Foundation board began recognizing and sharing stories of individuals, organizations or groups that are making significant contributions to creating a more caring community through servant leadership with its annual Caring Community Award.
Award recipients are role models who exemplify an extraordinary commitment to nurturing the spirit, dignity and potential of all people.
